Talk About Fracking

During October 2011 we organised photo shoots where David Michalek took over 80 portraits of people from counties Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon, Longford and Dublin who at the very least want a public debate on the issue of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for gas in Ireland.

We used these for a series of posters, postcards and a website and made our own artistic responces to the subject for an exhibition we first staged in Carrick-on-Shannon as part of the Trade seminar. A version of which is now available to tour.

We believe that a shared conversation between concerned individuals and their families, friends and beyond is the best way to raise this more general awareness. Some of these talking points could be what is at risk.
